Ipohwood to attract tourists

I just found out about this ala-Hollywood sign in Ipoh from one of my ex-student. Despite running a deficit budget, the Ipoh City Council built not one but two giant signs spelling the city's name at entry points on the PLUS expressway for RM800,000! (RM100,000 for each letter that spells out the words Ipoh)

Reasons for building the sign you asked? To turn the city of Ipoh into a significant landmark to entice more tourist stopovers. BS excuse for you know what lah!!!

This is total waste of public funds from the BN Perak government! I got two words for you!

Women-only coaches in Malaysia!

Fuyoh! KTM Bhd. (Malaysia's national railway company) introduced its first women-only coach for the commuter train service operating from Sentul to Port Klang today!



The reason for this implementation?

1. Statistics showed that 60% of KTM Komuter passengers were women;
2. Provide more comfort and security to women; and
3. Protect them from sexual harassment, jostling with male passengers, groping and catcalling.

Named Ladies Only At All Times, the coach is located in the middle among the three coaches of every commuter train. The coaches at the front and back are for all sexes.

A pink women-only coach sticker will be placed on the window, doorway and in the coach area to differentiate the coach from the rest.



Passengers at stations can identify the special coach via a pink banner at the platform and pole.

So what do you folks think of this women-only coaches?
